Safety Information and Documents

We are committed to offering a safe and eco-friendly product. We hold certifications from ASTM D4236 (LHAMA), ASTM F963 (Toy Safety Standards), EN71 (European Safety Standards), AS/NZ ISO 8124 (New Zealand Safety Standards) and CPSIA (Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act).  We post up-to-date safety testing from the following:  Dr. J. Clary, PhD, Toxicologist; SGS North America Consumer Product Testing, and CPC (Consumer Product Certification mandated by CPSIA).    Crayon Rocks are non–toxic and components are considered safe for the environment.

Crayons of all types are exempt from the size requirements for children under 3 per CPSIA.  However, since Crayon Rocks are so appealing in shape and color and since they are small enough (1.5 inch x .75 inch x .75 inch) to be a potential choking hazard to very young children, we recommend using them with supervision.  From our inception 14 years ago we have 236NOT had even one report of choking. Nevertheless, caregivers must use discretion and supervision when allowing young children to use or play with any object that is small enough to block the airway.  Made from a renewable resource, soy oil, and packaged in biodegradable materials, Crayon Rocks are an environmentally better choice over traditional petroleum wax crayons.
